Next Frontier Biosciences (NFB) is a Colorado-based biotech company developing best-in-class purified cannabinoid products for the treatment of chronic pain and other serious medical conditions. This lunchtime presentation will provide an overview of the endocannabinoid system and its relevance to cannabis. It will also review medical uses for cannabis and the concept of microdosing for wellness.

Check-in begins at 11:30. The luncheon will be at 6510 W. 91st Ave., Suite 106, Westminster, CO 80031, and runs from 12:00 to 1:00 with a catered lunch. All are welcome to pay  2019 SWEP Membership fees at check-in.

About the speaker:

Dr. Colagiovanni is responsible for the day-to-day management of Next Frontier Biosciences’ research and development activities as well as supporting the commercialization of the company’s products. She has over two decades of pharmaceutical development experience with an emphasis on project management, pharmacology and toxicology. Prior to joining the company, Dr. Colagiovanni held scientific leadership roles with Nivalis Therapeutics and Replidyne. She also held research positions with OSI Pharma, Gilead Sciences and Amgen. Dr. Colagiovanni has a broad range of development experience, starting from early drug discovery and clinical trials through regulatory approval and commercial launch. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Molecular Toxicology.

Petroleum Brownfields “That’s a Good Corner”
The Petroleum Cleanup and Redevelopment Fund (Redevelopment Fund), created within the Division of  Oil and Public Safety (OPS), is designed to catalyze the investigation and cleanup of contamination at abandoned and former gas stations and other petroleum storage tank properties. These sites are
common in almost every community throughout Colorado, many being unaddressed for decades. These former storage tank sites are generally not eligible to the Petroleum Storage Tank Fund (PSTF). The Redevelopment Fund can provide reimbursement to a property owner for costs incurred for tank removal, site assessment, cleanup.  The application process to become eligible to the Redevelopment Fund will be discussed along with some success stories.

About the speaker:

Ms. Bral graduated from Ohio University in Athens, OH in 1980 with a BS in Geology and in 1984 with a MS in Hydrogeology. While earning her MS degree she worked part-time as an exploration geologist for a small oil company in Marietta, OH. After graduating with her MS degree, she worked with Environmental Science and Engineering (ESE) for 13 years in Gainesville, FL and Denver, CO doing petroleum and hazardous waste site assessment and remediation. In 1998 she founded Bral Environmental, Inc. that specializes in Phase I and II site assessments. In 1999 she joined the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment – Division of Oil and Public Safety (OPS) as an Environmental Protection Specialist in the Remediation Section where she oversaw the assessment and remediation of petroleum contaminated sites. In 2004 she began managing the Colorado Petroleum Storage Tank Fund that provides annual reimbursements of $35M to $40M. In 2017 she returned to the OPS Remediation Section and now, in addition to overseeing site asssessments and cleanups, she manages the Petroleum Cleanup and Redevelopment Fund which provides reimbursement for tank removals and assessment and cleanup of “Brownfields” sites that are not eligible to the Petroleum Storage Tank Fund.

 About the speaker:

Monica Graves is a Licensed Louise Hay – “Heal Your Life” Workshop Leader. In 1993 she gave birth to her first child and wanted to help make the world a better place for her son. In 1999, she read the book, You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay, after experiencing Esophagitis, a condition characterized by ulcers, which was caused by stress at her job as a designer in New York. She decided to quit her job, move to Colorado and take a couple years off to explore life and to heal her life.  Now Monica’s life is filled with abundance, she has two healthy children, a 33-year-long marriage to her soul mate, and is a successful Realtor. Her upcoming book, Mastering Balance, will be published in 2019.  Monica is a Heal Your Life workshop leader to help others on their quest to heal. She currently offers Heal Your Life Workshops and Mastering Balance workshops in Denver, Golden, and Winter Park, Colorado. You can contact Monica at
