The Clean Air Act charges the EPA Administrator with setting primary standards that are requisite to protect public health with an adequate margin of safety. The body of scientific evidence on ozone and health has expanded significantly since EPA last reviewed the ozone standards in 2008. New clinical studies, that have become available since 2008, provide evidence of harmful effects to healthy, exercising adults at levels within the 2008 standard of 75 ppb. Ms. Ostendorf will discuss EPA’s October 1, 2015 decision to tighten the ozone standard to 70 ppb and other provisions of the final rule.

Purchasing a lunch will be optional for this event, due to the luncheon being held at the EPA building. There will be no charge for the presentation. The typical fees will be charged if you would like a SWEP lunch ($15 for members/$25 for non-members). Please include in your RSVP if you would like a lunch or not.
